The 22nd China Water Forum took place in Xi'an from 12 to 14September 2025. Hosted by Northwest University and co-organised by Chang'an University, Northwest A&F University and Xi'an University of Technology, among others, the forum took the theme of 'Human-Water Relationships and Beautiful China' and held discussions on topics such as the sustainable utilisation of water resources, the restoration of aquatic ecosystems and smart water conservancy. Special guests included Academician Xia Jun and Professor Qiting Zuo, who delivered speeches providing guidance on water science research and practice, and showcasing the latest achievements in China's water science field, while offering scientific and technological support for the construction of an ecological civilisation.

During the forum, the research group participated under the leadership of Prof. Huaibin Wei and Prof. Yongxiao Cao, while Prof. Jing Liu was responsible for the overall coordination of behind-the-scenes work. The team actively engaged in exchanges: team member Qian Xie gave a report titled Migration and Transformation Mechanisms and Numerical Simulation of Nutrients at the Sediment-Water Interface in Gate-Controlled Rivers at the graduate student sub-forum, and Hanfei Xu also delivered a report titled Multi-Layer Water Quality Dynamic Analysis for Eutrophication Risk Mitigation in Canyon-Type Water Bodies at the same sub-forum. Their research contents attracted the attention of on-site scholars, accumulating exchange experience for the research group's subsequent water science research.
