The 19th Water ScienceDevelopment Forum was successfully convened in Nanning, Guangxi , during April 17–19, 2026. The forum was co‑organized by the Water Science Research Center of Zhengzhou University and other leading academic bodies, and hosted by the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Guangxi University. Associate Professor Jing Liu arranged for her graduate student Luo Zhengbin to participate in this academic event.
Under the theme"Digital-Intelligent Water Grid and Water Security Regulation", this year's forum brought together leading experts and scholars across the country to discuss cutting-edge academic issues and innovative technical solutions in the water science field. The conference focused on four core research directions: hydrological simulation and digital-intelligent empowerment, basin water resources regulation and management, basin water eco-environmental protection, and digital intelligent water grid and smart canal, to explore targeted solutions for key challenges such as extreme hydrological events, water resources shortage and water eco-environmental degradation under global climate change.
Over the past 19 yearssince its initiation, the academic exchange platform built by the Water Science Development Forum has not only facilitated the formation of innovative development consensus in China's water science sector, but also provided valuable growth opportunities for young scholars in the industry. Through this conference, the research team led by Associate Professor Jing Liu gained an
in-depth understanding of the latest domestic research progress and cutting-edge trends in the field, broadened their academic horizons, and obtained new momentum for the optimization and innovation of their future research directions.
