From October 29 to December 11, 2023, Liu Qiuyu, a 2022-level graduate student from our research team, went to Baotou in Inner Mongolia to cooperate with experts from the Yellow River Water Resources Protection Science Research Institute on a water balance test in a mine factory.

Guided by the mine factory staff, the team collected water resource data and information from the survey area, became familiar with the technological processes and water usage procedures of various beneficiation plants, tested the actual water usage of the mine, and drew a water balance diagram of the plant area.

This practical experience provided a good platform and opportunity for students to apply classroom knowledge in practice and also allowed them to deeply understand the importance of water resources in supporting the high-quality development of cities along the Yellow River.
